TVNZ MOVES TO FX NETWORKS...

FX Networks is delighted to announce that it has won the Internet Services business of Television New Zealand.

Following an all of business RFP issued by TVNZ mid 2007, FX Networks bid for and won areas of business with TVNZ which included Internet Services and the Backup WAN component.

Jamie Baddeley, FX Networks General Manager of Internet Services says that TVNZ’s decision to move to FX Networks is a significant one, with the sector flagship’s decision further demonstrating that FX Networks delivers real value to the major users of Internet Connectivity in NZ.

“We put together a solution for TVNZ which enables them to scale their delivery of content up to 1Gbps. This is important for TVNZ as it accelerates the realization of their vision “Inspiring New Zealanders on every screen” – something that our independent backbone helps them achieve cost effectively and flexibly”

Garry Nicholls, General Manager of Support Services said that TVNZ had issued an RFP to identify vendors capable of delivering scaleable and flexible solutions, whilst ensuring a low total cost of ownership.

“FX Networks' solution topped our Internet scorecard and we believe this will provide the best possible outcome for TVNZ to deliver innovative content to New Zealanders”

“The Backup WAN provides, in addition to Corporate Network diversity, jumbo frame IP packets for high-speed synchronization of digital video between newsroom servers in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch”

FX Networks invites other Internet Service Providers to peer with them to enable the fastest delivery of TVNZ content to their customers, and looks forward to assisting TVNZ inspire New Zealanders on every screen.
